PicBAfter a plethora of racing over the Easter period, the domestic scene returned to normal late last week and local Knockeen-based handler Henry de Bromhead once again underlined the rude health that he presently has his string in by sending out Lord Ben to win the Templemore Beginners Chase over two and a quarter miles at Thurles on Thursday April 4th.

The John & Joan Davis Partnership-owned Lord Ben, a son of the recently deceased Knockhouse Stud-based stallion Beneficial, made all the running with Sizing Europe’s regular partner Andrew Lynch and he bravely kept pulling out more in the closing stages to contain Toner D’Oudairies by a half-length.
