Mind Keeper is psychology fiction and a debut novel released by Waterford author Derek Finn. The book is available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble internationally, and locally from Waterford Book Centre.

From the outset, ‘Mind Keeper’ immerses readers in the intricate web of Letty Stark’s mind. Letty developed multiple personality disorder as a coping mechanism for childhood trauma. The narrative begins with a glimpse into her daily life, a seemingly ordinary existence marred by extraordinary challenges. Letty’s condition, rooted in a traumatic past, manifests through various personas that emerge unpredictably, often triggered by stress or specific stimuli. These alter egos range from the nurturing and protective to the dangerously vengeful, creating a volatile and unpredictable internal landscape.

ENDORSEMENTS

Frank Power: “Finn thinks clearly and sharply about one of the hardest problems of science and humanity, cutting through the background noise with a scientist’s mind and a storyteller’s skill.”

David Burns: “A great read that drew me in from the start asking what’s coming next … Nicely done, the story twists and turns through to the last page.”

Prof. Ingrid Naidoo UCC: “The fictional story weaves through the fragility of our minds and touches on the human capacity for violence triggered by thoughts created within our own minds. A story that asks how far are we prepared to go to preserve human consciousness.”
