Minister John Gormley meeting with a delegation from Gael Scoil Philib Barún when the minister visited the Coast Guard station at Tramore to view the plans for the new school.
John Gormley the Minister for the Environment was in Tramore last week to meet with representatives of the Gael Scoil.
They proposed to him a unique type of school building that was environmentally friendly and would eliminate the cost of ongoing rental of pre fabs that would rise to nearly 80,000 euro per year soon.
He said he would set up a meeting with Education Minister Batt O Keeffe on the matter.
The representatives from Philip Barun School felt that they got a good hearing And were able to present their case well.
Stan Nangle local green rep for the local elections in Tramore facilitated the meeting and Donal Brady, acting for the county manager was also in attendance.
The Minister also met Billy Butler, Paul and Lynda Tuohy as well as Paul Jackman , where they spoke about ways of promoting Tramore more as an Eco friendly tourist resort.
The surfing and adventure centres were excellent educational options for schools and other visitors wishing to learn about the sea and wildlife.
Back Strand excursions is a growing trend and they wanted to see Tramore get more national recognition for its eco friendly efforts.
