The fall-out from Carrick-on-Suir Town Council’s decision not to issue a formal invite to Queen Elizabeth II continues, with the Councillor who proposed the invitation describing his rejected proposal as a missed opportunity.
Speaking to The Munster Express, Cllr Pierce O’Loughlin (Independent) said that such a high-profile visit would have done wonders for community morale while also providing a long-term tourist boost.
