A Waterford City solicitor has been suspended from practicing, the reasons for which are unspecified.

A Law Society spokesman has confirmed that it had applied to the High Court for orders against solicitor Gabrielle Dalton, principal of Gabrielle Dalton & Associates, of Otteran Place, South Parade, “freezing” her and her firm’s bank accounts and suspending her practicing certificate.

The orders were granted on November 24 and various ancillary orders were granted on December 3, said the spokesman. The formal written court orders had not yet been issued and until they were it would be inappropriate for him to state anything further, he added.
