Ten jobs will be created by the new Irish low cost discounter, BuyLo, which will open its doors in Waterford on Thursday, November 11th, at 10am. The new, 10,500sq ft store is located on the site of the former Boland’s Car Showroom on the Cork Road.

The BuyLo model is an Irish company’s answer to rival German discounters and will offer well-known brands of food and non-food household items at significantly discounted prices. There are four BuyLo stores currently operating in Ireland – Ashbourne, Co Meath, Tralee, Co Kerry, Mullingar Co. Westmeath, and Killarney, Co Kerry. In addition, there are plans to open a further two BuyLo stores in Shannon and Dublin by the end of the year.

Jim Barry, managing director of the Barry Group which is the exclusive promoter and owner of the BuyLo franchise said: “I am very confident indeed that the potential for the new Waterford store is excellent given its central location on the Cork Road.” The BuyLo Waterford store will be open seven days a week.
