The ongoing stand-off between developers and retailers over the opening of the Ferrybank Shopping Centre is a private battle which Kilkenny County Council can do little to resolve.
That’s the view of new Kilkenny TD John Paul Phelan (Fine Gael), who attended a meeting organised by the Ferrybank Shopping Centres Action Group last week.
“It’s a fight that the local authority is not a part of,” Deputy Phelan told The Munster Express after a Question & Answer session with the action group. “And it’s a very frustrating situation, no question about it.”
