Waterford Labour Deputy Brian O’Shea has been informed by Brendan Smith, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food t hat his Department is currently considering the cost-benefit analysis it commissioned on the development proposals for Dunmore East Fishery Harbour Centre, €470,000 was allocated this year towards work in Dunmore under the Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Development Programme. These include repairs to the East Pier (Phase 11), safety and maintenance measures, upgrading of the slipway and access to the West Wharf.

The long-mooted overhaul of the State fishery port has been costed at upwards of €50 million.

The answer Mr O’Shea received was the same as that given to Fine Gael TD John Deasy in May.
