Inch United, the current leaders of the West Waterford-East Cork League, were outclassed by St Saviours in Ballybeg on Saturday last. Only a fine display by the visiting goalkeeper David Coleman kept the score to a reasonable final tally. The gap in class between the two sides was clear to see from early on and the visitors could count themselves lucky to have lost by a heavier margin.
The Saints were on the attack from the opening whistle and they took the lead with just five minutes. Joe Twomey got away down the left and his cross found Stephen McLawrence who knocked the ball into the path of Billy Barron and he fired a right-foot shot into the bottom corner.
