Dungarvan United were relegated from the Premier League last season and one of the reasons why they took the drop was the fact that they enjoyed a long run in the Munster Cup, reaching the latter stages. As a result they had to play a lot of games during the course of the campaign and the back-log eventually caught up on them.

They are flying high in Division 1A right now and along with Piltown are unbeaten, emerging as favourites to return to the top grade once again come the end of the current campaign. Promotion is their main aim but on the evidence of this display they are also determined to give the Munster Cup another right go this time around.

Crystal would have been one of the clubs that the Waterford League would be expecting to perhaps win the MFA Cup but alas they will be disappointed to fall at the first fence.

Landers save

Dungarvan did not  have things their own way and within 10 minutes Jason Halloran found Martin Tynan unmarked at the back post from a right-wing corner kick; however his header went straight into the side-netting.

Liam Coady got on the end of a Paul Quilty right-wing delivery on 13 minutes but he failed to direct his glancing header on target as the home side really took the game to Dungarvan.
