Waterford will play the Defence Forces in Ben Wadding Park, Poleberry on Wednesday, January 9th. This game was due to be “an away” game for Waterford but the Defence Forces requested that the game be moved to Waterford as it suits their players to come to Waterford rather than some other venue.

Waterford drew with South Tipperary in their opening game in Ozier Park but lost away to Kerry. To advance to the knock out stage they will be hoping that Tipperary lose to Kerry in Listowel next Sunday as they have four points following their draw with Waterford and a victory over the Defence Forces. If Kerry beat Tipperary they would top the group with 9 points. Tipperary would finish with four points, which would mean that Waterford would have to beat the Defence Forces and score more goals than Tipperary did in their three games.

However if Tipperary get a positive result in Kerry then Waterford will not be able to get through to the knock out stage.
