Passage claimed a place in the quarter-finals of the senior hurling championship when they enjoyed a seven point win over Dungarvan in Leamybrien last Friday evening.

The result means that Passage claim the fourth quarter-final place from Group Two while Dungarvan bow out of the championship and will not be seen again until 2012.

With so much at stake for both sides coming into this game, the opening first quarter was decidedly cagey. Both managers withdrew a corner-forward out to the middle of the field, leaving a plethora of players contesting every ball in the middle third.
