The acclaimed Irish photographer David Creedon has an excellent exhibition at the Old Market House Arts Centre, Dungarvan with the quirky title Variations on Pianoforte. He was commissioned by Cork School of Music to capture on film the largest collection of Steinway grand pianos in the world.

The Irish Government in a public-private scheme with Hochtief PPP Solutions (Ireland) Ltd bought fifty-four Steinway grand pianos for the newly built Cork School of Music. That constituted the largest single order of this type that Steinway had ever received in its 154 year history.

Over a period, Creeedon photographed these pianos to create a unique exhibition of many moods, facets, surfaces and reflective e images that show the detail and inner eye of a remarkable photographer.
