Suirfire Productions went against the trend of these new emerging production companies and followed a comedy with a profound production, a serious piece of theatre, Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness at the Theatre Royal. It was described in the programme as – three men, one cell, an agonizing wait, but it should have said – three actors, one set, an amazing performance.

John Grubb, the director and founder member of Suirfire, impressed with excellent direction. Inventive and interesting with fine subdued lighting from Eoin Sheridan and an excellent visual design from John Loftus that added layers of meaning and ironic history to the presentation.
