Theatre organisations now see audition programmes as an added promotional boost to attract, not just a better choice of performers, but the first shots in promoting interest and ticket sales.
Waterford Pantomime Society have launched a search for Aladdin and Jasmine, the two leading roles in their December panto. Auditions will take place at the new state-of-the-dance Richie Hayes Stage School, at the Six Cross Roads Roundabout, over Best Tiles. Performers between 16 and 22 are required and must have a song of their choice prepared.
Auditions are between 3.00 and 6.00pm on Sunday 13th September. Bryan Flynn will direct with Michelle Condon as choreographer and Wayne Brown as musical director. Call backs 14th Monday.

Oliver!
In addition, the award-winning Festival Productions, will be holding auditions in Whites Hotel Wexford, on 20th and 21st September for a lavish, pre-Christmas production of Oliver! At the fabulous Wexford Opera House. All parts are open for audition and adults and children will need to prepare a song for these auditions (preferably from the show).

Adults must bring their own sheet music for a song from Oliver! Children won’t need sheet music and Dodgers need to learn Consider Yourself and Oliver’s need Where Is Love?
Dialogue pages for all characters will be available when you arrive for audition.
Oliver! Runs from 22 – 30 December with a brief Christmas break and tickets are already on sale at Wexford Opera House.
