On Tuesday, March 3rd, the Munster Secondary Schools Indoor Championships were held in Nenagh and there were a number of good performances by athletes from Waterford schools. The following had wins:
Junior Girls 60 metres: Ann O’Shea, Ursuline
600 metres: Autumn Coady
Long Jump: Ciara Giles Doran
Senior Girls 60 metres: Clare Morrissey, St Declan’s, Kilmacthomas
Long Jump: Nicola Power, Abbey Community College.
Second placings went to Ann O’Shea, junior long jump; Ciara Giles Doran, junior 60 metres and 60 metres hurdles; Kate Hickey, St Declan’s, junior shot putt; Megan Kiely, Ursuline, intermediate Long Jump.
Third placings went to Megan Kiely in the intermediate 60 metres hurdles and 600 metres; Clare Morrissey, senior long jump; Jamie Walsh, St Augustine’s, junior shot putt; April Flynn, Ursuline, intermediate long jump, and the St Augustine’s junior relay team.
