Rathgormack 1-6; Clashmore/Kinsalebeg 0-8

Having gone close on a number of occasions in recent years, Rathgormack eventually won the County Junior ‘A’ (Senior Attached) County Final on Sunday last at Fraher Field after a narrow win over Clashmore.
At the end of the first quarter very few in the ground could have predicted the way that this game could have ended, given Clashmore’s early dominance.
However, Rathgormack, featuring players who have played in a range of divisional and county finals, edged home, no doubt abetted by the experience garnered on other big occasions.
Tony Bolger in the middle of the field had a massive game for the victors here while up front, the experience of Kenny Hassett, especially in the second half, was crucial.
