The final scoreline from this game played in Tom Drohan Park on a glorious Sunday morning proved to be a little unfair on a Southend side who never stopped battling all through.
However it was the 2008 champions who advanced into the local last four along with St Paul’s, Tramore and the Villa.
The opening three goals of the contest were scored in a blistering opening 20 minutes. This was not a vintage display by any means by Carrick, but nevertheless they are still standing.
