The Rugby World cup final was not the only game to finish 0-8 to 0-7 last Sunday.
Several hours after proceedings finished in Eden Park, Ballygunner and Passage served up the exact same score when they met in the Eastern Under-21 hurling final.
On a day when conditions were absolutely horrendous, Ballygunner held on for a victory that looked unlikely when wing-back Stephen O’Keeffe was red carded for a head-butt on Passage centre-back Noel Connors.
The over-riding feature of this game was the terrible underfoot conditions and one wonders if we were not going into the last week of October and a fixture nightmare whether this game would have gone ahead.
