There was heartbreak for brave Waterford champions Ballydurn in Walsh Park last Sunday when they endured an extra-time defeat to St Patricks of Tipperary in the semi-final of the Munster Junior Club hurling championship.

Ballydurn tried to the bitter end to get the scores that would earn them another bite of the cherry but the Tipperary men hung on for a narrow victory.

The vanquished were forced to field without three important regular players with, Paddy Dunphy, Thomas Dunphy and Michael Hubbard all absent and there can be no doubt that they would now be planning for a Munster final if these players had been available.
