GARDAÍ are continuing to investigate an aggravated burglary in Clonea Power which took place last week.
An elderly couple were subjected to the ordeal when two people broke into their home located beside their shop on Tuesday last January 9th around 9pm.
Local Gardaí and the Regional Support Unit responded but the suspects fled with a sum of cash in a vehicle in an unknown direction.
Cathaoirleach of the Comeragh District Cllr Seanie Power (FG) said there is shock and concern within the locality following the incident, particularly amongst elderly people living alone.
He complimented Gardaí for their ongoing work in addressing rural crime, particularly in relation to supporting the Text Alert initiative.
