GAA the opportunity to build a stadium ‘of their choice’ on campus-owned ground.
In the wake of a Sunday Independent report which suggested just that, a WIT statement on Monday reads: “The Institute has not made a statement on potential collaboration with the GAA. We have a close relationship with many key sporting organisations in the region, including the GAA and we are always ready and open to engage with organisations.”
The spokesperson added: “The WIT Arena has shown itself to be the premier sports and conferencing facility in the South East. Sport is a major part of the WIT community and our commitment first and foremost is to our students, followed by the needs of the region.”
