A locally-based company’s app that will dramatically cut the time to diagnose sick animals has been gaining recognition for its innovation at European level.
Start-up CF Pharma recently finished first out of 50 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the European Union’s SmartAgriFood accelerator programme.
The app allows a faecal sample that has been put through some filters to be photographed and diagnosed in the cloud within an hour.
CF Pharma, a medical device company based on the city’s IDA Industrial Estate, was one of 18 companies whittled down from 200 who had applied for the accelerator programme. All 18 companies are now preparing to launch their product on the commercial market.
