Some government party members of Waterford City Council oppose the controversial €100 household charge, it emerged at their monthly meeting on Monday night.
When the issue was debated, Labour’s Seamus Ryan (right) spoke against the tax, highlighting the inequity of the flat charge which left many families liable, while at the same time struggling to put food on their tables.
