Ballygunner 2-15; Drom & Inch 1-13

Ballygunner booked their place in the Munster Club Hurling semi-final when they overcame the challenge of Tipperary champions Drom & Inch in Thurles last Sunday afternoon.

The scoreline didn’t reflect Ballygunner’s dominance as the Waterford champions missed a hatful of scoring chances. This, coupled with some bizarre refereeing by Colm Lyons left Drom & Inch still in the game deep in the final quarter.

There was no question about Ballygunner’s star performer last Sunday, with Wayne Hutchinson producing in the kind of performance that Fergal Hartley in his pomp would have been proud of. In Ballygunner, there can be no greater praise than that.
