As part of the literature strand of the Imagine Festival, the County Waterford poet Thomas McCarthy was joined by Grace Wells for a Sunday poetry reading at Greyfriars Gallery. The setting among an exhibition of naked bodies was a treat and you could hardly ask for better. Unless it was naked poets as well. Behind the poets was a nude study of a woman on a patterned fabric chair with her knees tucked up for modesty.

McCarthy paid tribute to the hinterland of Seán Dunne and Dunne’s contribution to Waterford and Irish writing. I found it sad that in a City Council Gallery to listen to such praise for Seán Dunne and to remember the insult the City Council gave to his memory this year.
