Last week, a chance encounter led to the topic of this week’s column. “My husband had a difficult surgery a few months ago,” said ‘Mary’ – not her real name.
“Things didn’t go exactly to plan and the chances are that he’ll have to have an even more invasive operation the next time around, which neither of us are too thrilled about.”
Mary added: “He’s been stuck indoors a lot because of the operation – his balance isn’t great – so that’s left him sat in the sitting room for most of the day, and it’s started to get the better of him.
