County and Provincial champions De La Salle, already through to the last eight, topped their SHC section, while Ballyduff Upper, despite this five-point defeat, also progressed to the quarter-finals.
De La Salle opened this game in fine fashion as John Mullane and Shane McNulty hit points inside the opening minute to give the champions an early two-point cushion.
