Over the holidays it was great to see local faces and local connections on the telly. Michael Joseph, a runner-up star in the series Fame The Musical, appeared in the movie Swansong – Story of Occi Byrne. The late Frank Coughlan’s grandson made a second appearance in Fair City, much to the delight of his mother, Ruth.
Andrew Macklin, who was in Fair City up till recently, has a fun part in the Meteor TV advert.
Dervla Murphy of Lismore had a strangely named TG4 programme about her called Who Is Dervla Murphy? Since 1965 she has written at least twenty books and has a worldwide reputation. Way to go Dervla.
