The trustees of the Waterford Crystal factory and staff pension funds are in the process of winding up the schemes and will be informing all former staff of their specific entitlements in the near future.

This week approximately 600 former workers over the age of 50 received benefit statements detailing their monetary entitlements. It is believed there are about 1700 former workers involved in total.

The Trustees have arranged for each worker, if he or she wishes, to have a personal consultation with a pension and financial expert nominated by the Trustees so that they can best manage their money. FitzGerald Life and Pensions of Waterford, which has been appointed as local consultants by the Trustees, has also arranged a general information meeting for the former workers in The Woodlands Hotel on the Dunmore Road on Monday next, November 29th, at 7.30pm sharp.
