Riding High in the British Charts

Riding High in the British Charts

For the third week in a row, a composition by a Tramore based Electro-Pop duo, ‘Blumenkraft’, is riding high in the UK Upfront Dance Music Club Charts. ‘Fresh Times’ entered the chart at No 36, climbed to No 17 last week and, this week, is sitting proudly at No 8 above such established artistes as Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera, Paul Oakenfold, Katie Melua and Marina and The Diamonds.

‘Blumenkraft’, which means ‘Flower Power’ in German, comprises Ciara Murphy and Mark Roosli. Ciara was born and raised in Tramore and, after graduating in Languages and Marketing from WIT, she moved to Switzerland where she met and married music producer Mark. The couple moved back to Tramore in 1998 where they now live with their two children.

Last year, they formed their own label, ‘Galvanised Records’, and began recording in their own home studio. To their surprise their first offering , ‘Skinny B’, received a lot of airplay in Britain and became a firm favourite in the dance clubs but it is their latest chart release, which also features Tramore’s Drum and Bass MC, Mark Kennedy, that is really attracting attention. ‘Fresh Times’, described as a catchy dance/pop anthem with a retro feel, is available on iTunes, Amazon and all major download stores worldwide and on CD from selected outlets in Ireland.
