Singer Niamh Kavanagh will represent Ireland in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo this Thursday night but also featured on the show, to be broadcast on RTE television, will be members of the well known Murphy family from Ballygriffin, Grannagh. This year, the Norwegians decided to feature a family from each participating country and the Murphys emerged victorious from a national competition held on the Derek Mooney Programme on RTE Radio 1. To be seen by over 120 million people across Europe and beyond are Raymond, Colin, Gerry, Rose, Bronagh and Leeann Murphy, sons and daughters of Mary Murphy and the late James Murphy, Ballygriffin. No doubt they will do themselves and us proud.
