Dungarvan United completed the Division Three League and Cup double in Ozier Park on Wednesday night last when they outclassed Seaview Celtic from Annestown.
The teams went in level at half time and few would have predicted that The Old Borough side would run out such easy winners at that stage.
But two early goals in the second half knocked the stuffing out of Celtic completely and they never recovered from their dreadful start to the second period.
It proved to be a magical 24 hours for the Dungarvan club because the previous night their Division 1A team won their league and as a result they bounced back into the Premier League at their first attempt.
Things are on the up for Dungarvan United  and  no one would begrudge them their success because the entire Waterford and District League needs a strong club in the west.
Seaview have done well in cup competition during the past decade, but on this occasion they came up second best and they can have few complaints about the outcome.
Celtic opened brightly enough  and on 10 minutes Karl Lonergan cut inside the Dungarvan defence but his left foot shot was well held by Trevor Moore at the foot of the upright.
Shortly afterwards  Dungarvan opened up the Celtic defence with their first attack of the game as Michael Byrnes slipped a clever pass into the run of Michael Mahony who shot high over the bar.
On 24 minutes Dungarvan put another fine move together as Colin Houlihan made ground down the left but his cross was headed wide by Michael Byrnes.
On the half hour mark Celtic responded well as Eoin Clifford sent Ward Murray racing clear down the left only for the big striker to shoot into the arms of Trevor Moore.
