Waterford County Council is continuing to experience problems with the water supply in Tramore and Dunmore East.
“In an effort to detect leaks, conserve water and to allow reservoir levels to rise”, taps in both areas were turned off overnight from 10pm on Monday until lunchtime yesterday (Tues) and again from the same time last night up to around 1pm today.
The affected areas in Tramore include Pickardstown, Ballydrislane, Ballykinsella, Seaview, Sommerville, the Glen Road, Old Crobally Road, the Riverstown Road (and housing estates off it), Beach Park, Beachmount, Oak Crescent, Pebble Beach, Bayview and Marine Drive.
The County Council is asking the public to conserve water, to check property and service pipes on a regular basis, and also to check empty properties for burst pipes. Any breaks or leaks should be reported to the Council on 051-395500 or 052-22000 or by emailing watersewersinfo@waterfordcoco.ie
Meanwhile, Lawlor’s Strand in Dunmore East was closed last Friday as a precautionary measure due to a recent rockfall and is likely to remain closed for a week. The road from the public toilets to the Azzurro restaurant has also been closed to vehicles and pedestrians, with a diversion in place via Horsequarter.
