Pike Rovers 1; Tramore 2

Tramore recorded their second victory in Limerick this season when they beat a hotly fancied Pike Rovers outfit on Sunday afternoon. In the last stage they beat Carew Park after extra time and penalties.

The Seasiders are now into the semi-finals of the provincial cup competition where they will play either Dungarvan United of Fairview Rangers in Ozier Park. The Waterford League still has three teams involved in the Munster Cup. Apart from Tramore and Dungarvan, Carrick United are still involved.

They play Newcastle West next Sunday and the winners of that game will meet either Mayfield or Regional United in the other semi. It is still possible that we could have an all-Waterford decider.

Sean Browne gave Tramore the lead after only two minutes but Pike Rovers equalised eight minutes later. Leigh Quilty scored what proved to be the winner on 25 minutes. The only sour point from a Tramore point of view was a second yellow card shown to Stephen Grant in injury time.
