Bohemians 0; Villa 1

Bohemians may be looking forward to a home quarter final game with Ballymun United in the FAI Junior Cup on Sunday, March 22, but their place in the Waterford Premier League is hanging in the balance following this latest home defeat.

They would have fancied their chances in this game because the previous week they had defeated Regional United in the FAI Cup. Villa on the other hand had not played a game of any sort since January 11th so the odds were stacked in favour of the red and blacks, but it was the green and white hoops of the visitors who created all of the chances.

The only goal of the game came with 20 minutes remaining. Jimmy Barry picked the ball up on the halfway line and he made his way to the right flank before getting around Leo Jacques and then he picked out Ross Douglas who moved in between goalkeeper Geoff Kelly and a defender to slot the ball to the net with his right foot.

Kenny Purcell did put the ball in the net for Bohs in injury time, but he was ruled offside.
