The National Lottery has launched its sponsorship of the Skyfest spectacular which is part of the St Patrick’s Festival in Waterford City.

The National Lottery Skyfest, in partnership with St Patrick’s Festival, will take place in Waterford on Saturday, March 14, with festivities starting from 6.30pm. The live show will be broadcast on RTE 1 from 7.30. That evening, a fireworks and musical extravaganza will bring the city’s historic quayside to life.

In addition to its sponsorship in Waterford, the National Lottery will also be adding an extra €2 million to the Lotto jackpot that Saturday. The Lotto draw on the night, broadcast live on RTE 1, will take place outdoors on the quayside in Waterford.

This is the second time that the fireworks and musical spectacular will take place outside Dublin. Last year, the National Lottery sponsored the Skyfest spectacular at the Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary.

“The National Lottery is delighted to be involved with St Patrick’s Festival in bringing Skyfest to Waterford. This promises to be an exciting event that is sure to make it a St Patrick’s Weekend to remember for all the family,” said Dermot Griffin, Chief Executive, National Lottery.

Donal Shiels, CEO of St Patrick’s Festival, added: “St Patrick’s Festival is delighted that the National Lottery continues to support Skyfest and especially in helping us bring this unique show to another city outside of Dublin for the second year running. We look forward to an amazing display on the Waterford City quays and anticipate a spectacular night.”

Winning Streak Dream Ticket will also be broadcast on TV directly after the Lotto draw at 8pm.
