Gardai have urged the public to be vigilant following burglaries at five houses in the Ferrybank area during Sunday night.

The break-ins occurred at houses in Brockton Avenue in Hollybrook, The Beeches and Berkley Road in the Ballyrobin area from around midnight on Sunday to 10am on Monday and the culprits are believed to have gained access to several of the properties through unlocked front and back doors.

A number of valuable items were stolen, including laptops, a 42″ flat screen TV, jewellery and cash.

Gardai believe the incidents are connected and have urged people to lock up at night. “A vehicle would have been required to transport at least some of the items stolen and we would appreciate anyone in the area on Sunday night who saw anything suspicious to contact Waterford Garda Station”, as spokesperson said.
