Having won the All-Ireland Under 14 title last season this squad of players displayed their undoubted class by winning their latest national decider in superb fashion in Coolock on Sunday afternoon.

The team managed by John Furlong, who is assisted by Eddie Widger and Liam Moore, were in control for long periods and despite the best efforts of the Donegal side Waterford were comfortable winners.

Two quick-fire goals in the first half put Waterford in the driving seat and they never looked back.

Paul Whyte was the player who netted both on 16 and 19 minutes. He finished with sublime class following a pass from James Starmer for his first and then he took advantage of excellent work by Starmer and Eoin Walsh for his second.

Yes, this was another red letter day for John Furlong, his assistants and of course for this very talented group of players. Heroes all!

The full squad who brought home All-Ireland medals from this game is as follows: Josh Byrne (Bohs), Shane Hayes (Hibs), Andrew Baxter (Villa), Andrew Heaslop (Bohs), Luke Harney (Ferrybank), Kevin Feeley (Villa), Ryan Foley (Bohs), James Starmer (Hibs), Paul Whyte (Bohs), Jack Gaule (Villa), Eoin Walsh (Kilmacthomas), Dean Hayes (Bohs), James Connolly (Bohs), Kevin Hurley (Ferrybank), Wayne Robinson (Villa), Reece Rooney (Villa), Damien Cooper (Tramore), Mark Weldon (Villa).
